The Metal Hammer Golden Gods is an awards ceremony that inspires a celebration of sound; a sound so sophisticated and equivocally unpretentious that Barbaric, Bloodthirsty and Bewitching are the consequential qualities that form the quintessence of what makes metal music the elite genre that so few have come to love, and an overwhelming number have come to hate. Misunderstood by the masses, the metal message is delivered with the unabashed assistance of uncouth utterance and sassy sounds that dictate deference. Metal keeps it raunchy, real and ruthless, and I am proud to call myself a defender of the faith. As a soldier of metal, fighting the malady of mediocrity, it is my duty to vote for this year’s Golden Gods award winners, and, dear metal lover, it is also YOURS.
