Where in the world is Osama bin Laden?

So the mascot for terrorism is dead. Shot in the left eye by a commando while President Barack Obama watched on TV. Via a video camera fixed to the helmet of a U.S. Navy Seal, the leader of the free world saw the hero of terrorist activity killed.

Well dome Team America.

Obama is up in the polls and more than half of Americans now say he deserves to be re-elected; just in time for next year’s election campaign.

At a fund-raising event in Austin, Texas, President Obama wove the killing of Bin Laden into his political pitch: “Because of the extraordinary bravery of the men and women who wear this nation’s uniform and the outstanding work of our intelligence agencies, Osama bin Laden will never again threaten the United States of America,” he said.

Like Osama bin Laden is the only terrorist or terrorist leader. HELLO! The tragedy of 9/11 called for justice to be meted out to a face and name: Osama bin Laden was that name. Osama’s dead and retribution has been achieved. And the world is apparently safer. Yay! Um… in the words of Borat: (pause) No-o-o-T.

Safe? Seriously? Maybe for America. Where’s the logic? More to the point… where’s Osama. Good thing the U.S. embassies are on alert. Is the guy actually even dead? Seeing is believing – sordid but garishly true (baring in mind the wonders of Photoshop).

DNA tests 99.9 per cent certain man killed WAS bin Laden. But only a few Washington insiders will get to see pics of the body. The Guardian reported that the White House decided that the pictures, taken by the navy Seal team that killed Bin Laden, would not be made public. Barack Obama told CBS television: “It is important to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence or as a propaganda tool.”

(Sure… avoid propaganda – is it actually necessary to write Laugh Out Loud?)

Bring on the conspiracy theories – popular culture waits with baited breath!
